Meet Executive Director
James W. "Pete" Woods

Pete Woods is a nationally recognized advertising and marketing professional who brings over three decades of experience advising organizations on the building and nurturing of their brands to targeted audiences. In addition to extensive business experience, Woods holds a BFA in studio art from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is a talented sculptor in his own right. Pete and his wife Tricia reside in Mooresville, NC and have three children, Alex, Katie, and Sarah.

“I feel fully supported by The Hiddenite Center’s excellent Staff and Board of Directors as we work together to sustain the quality of programming that this region has come to know and depend upon even as we build a greater awareness for all that the organization has to offer,” Woods went on to say. “It is our obligation and our privilege to ensure that Hiddenite Center programs provide fresh and relevant arts opportunities for diverse audiences. Visit the beautifully restored, century-old Lucas Mansion; now home to a dynamic folk and cultural arts center.

The Hiddenite Center, Inc. is a folklife and cultural arts educational and exhibition center located in Hiddenite, North Carolina. A three-story Victorian house has been restored to house galleries and offices. The Center is designed to afford experiential opportunities for Western North Carolina and serves as a prism to capture the energies contained within the area. We invite you to enjoy!

Experience “Christmas Reel to Real”
at The Hiddenite Center’s Lucas Mansion
this Holiday Season
Open Now Through Dec. 23rd

Step into your favorite classic holiday films and enter a world of Christmas movie magic during The Hiddenite Center’s annual Christmas at the Lucas Mansion exhibits. This year’s theme, “Christmas Reel to Real” brings beloved holiday films to life throughout the Center’s three story Victorian home, which houses a museum, gallery, and collections of antique dolls and toys.

On the third floor of The Hiddenite Center's Lucas Mansion, guests will catch a glimpse of Mr. Grinch as he steals ornaments right off of the tree.

The Lucas Mansion Museum's bedroom is the scene of "Miracle on 34th Street, where little Susan learns to believe in Santa and wakes to find that her wishes have come true.

The Hiddenite Center’s lavish “Christmas Reel to Real” decorations will be open to the public at The Hiddenite Center’s Lucas Mansion (316 Hiddenite Church Road in Alexander County) December 5th through December 23rd and December 29th – December 31st during the Hiddenite Center’s operating hours, which are Monday – Friday from 10am until 4:30pm and Saturday from 10am until 3:00pm.
