Features Our Dickens Village
Christmas and Winter Snow Scenes
by Foothills Visual Art Guild
The Hiddenite Center’s Lucas Mansion Gallery, located on the second floor, features an extensive, vintage Dickens Christmas Village made of hand painted porcelain. This rare treasure was originally owned by The Hiddenite Center’s founder, Mrs. Eileen Lackey Sharpe. The village includes shops, townspeople, and characters from A Christmas Carol represented in 1/64 inch scale. This exhibition of Mrs. Sharpe’s Dickens Christmas Village marks the first time that the village has been displayed at The Hiddenite Center in its entirety.
The Gallery will also feature the work of The Foothills Visual Art Guild of Western NC. This mixed media exhibit will focus on scenes that portray winter and Christmas themes.
